Dana Farmer is STOTT PILATES certified in
mat and reformer and has been teaching for 4 years. She has participated in many exercise
programs and sports since she was a child and chose pilates as her BEF (best exercise forever). “Pilates is something for everyone
at any time. It can be rehabilitative for someone recovering from an injury or a challenge for those who
are already fit. I love the fact that it combines all the empowering elements—flexibility, strength
and mind/body awareness.” Dana is creative
by nature and loves to invent fun routines incorporating props, equipment and music. “ Although pilates
is a serious discipline, I believe it can also be fun. Clients want to reach goals, but they also should
be able to enjoy the process.” Additionally Dana has earned her Yoga Certification from Midtown Yoga and is offering the Pilates Yoga Fusion class
once a month on Saturdays!!
Traci Moore, Certified Pilates
Instructor & Pre-Natal Specialist wasn't a dancer or a fitness enthusiast when she discovered Pilates. Quite the opposite, she
had always wanted to be in better physical shape but she found traditional forms of exercise too uncomfortable. As a
child she was diagnosed with scoliosis, the postural condition was easy to ignore until her senior year of high school when
she began experiencing pain. She was at the chiropractor's office three times a week throughout that year. At
some point it occurred to her that she wanted to be more proactive about her body. She began practicing Yoga and later
Pilates. "I couldn't believe how good I was feeling" Traci says. "For the first time in my life
exercise was enjoyable instead of painful and akward." In 2005 Traci completed a 700 hour certification with Ellie Herman studios in San Francisco. Since then
she has been given birth to two daughters Runa and Hazel. Both girls were birthed at home and were great experiences.
Throughout Traci's pregnancies and post partum she studied prenatal and postnatal fitness and
natural childbirth. "My body has been in so many different places in the last several years." Traci says.
"One very encouraging thing that I have learned is that with a little patience and diligence and Pilates, the body will
improve!"
